Grandma'S Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. oatmeal
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oats; let stand 20 minutes.
    (If quick cooking, 15 minutes is good.)
    Cream together sugar and shortening; add eggs, salt, cinnamon and baking soda, then mix. Add flour and mix.
    Put oats in mixture and mix.
    Pour in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
