Cream Of Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. water
    1 bag fresh broccoli, chopped or 2 pkg. frozen broccoli
    1/2 c. onion
    1/2 c. butter
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    pinch of garlic powder
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. American cheese, shredded or 1 lg. jar Cheez Whiz
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. cold water
    1 c. Carnation milk
Preparation
    Add to broccoli mixture slowly until thickened.
    Put several spoons of broccoli mixture in white mixture before adding to the broccoli mixture.
