Strawberry Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. hot water
    1/2 oz. almond flavoring
    3/4 c. lemon juice
    1 box frozen strawberries
    red food coloring
    1 large can pineapple juice
    2 qt. ginger ale
Preparation
    Dissolve sugar in hot water.
    Add remaining ingredients, except ginger ale.
    Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. To serve, pour mixture over ice into a punch bowl and add 2 quarts of ginger ale.
    Serves 40.
