Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium onions
    6 qt. sliced cucumbers
    1 c. salt
    1 1/2 qt. vinegar
    6 c. sugar
    1/3 c. mustard seed
    1 1/2 Tbsp. celery seed
    1/4 Tbsp. cayenne pepper
Preparation
    Slice onions; combine with cucumbers and salt.
    Let stand for 3 hours and drain.
    Combine vinegar, sugar, mustard, celery seed and pepper.
    Bring to a boil 5 minutes at simmering point.
    Pack into 8 pint jars, filling to top and seal.
