Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 whole chicken
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 egg
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    5 Tbsp. water
    chicken broth
    1 hard-boiled egg
Preparation
    Cook hen; cool and remove meat from bones.
    Cut into bite-size pieces.
    Let chicken broth come to a low boil.
    Mix flour, egg, shortening, salt and water to make a smooth ball.
    Divide into two parts.
    Roll out thin on floured board and cut in 2 to 3-inch strips.
    Add separately to boiling broth.
    Reduce heat and add chopped, boiled egg; salt and pepper to taste.
