Chocolate Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, grated
    2/3 c. milk, scalded
    2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Melt chocolate in milk.
    Add sugar and corn syrup.
    Cook slowly, stirring until sugar dissolves.
    Bring to boiling; cover and cook 3 minutes.
    Uncover and cook to soft ball stage (236\u00b0), stirring frequently.
    Remove from heat; add butter and cool to lukewarm (110\u00b0) without stirring.
    Add vanilla and beat vigorously until very thick and no longer glossy.
    Quickly spread in a greased pan.
    When firm, cut in squares.
    Makes 2 dozen pieces.
