Indian Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    1/4 c. yellow corn meal
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 c. molasses
    1 Tbsp. butter
    cassia, ginger and nutmeg to taste
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Scald milk; save out 1/2 cup.
    Add meal and cook 20 minutes. Add sugar and other ingredients.
    Bake for 1 hour in uncovered casserole.
    Stir twice, then add remaining 1/2 cup milk.
    Bake 30 minutes longer.
    Serve warm with whipped cream.
