Ground Beef Porcupines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    2 Tbsp. minced onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 can tomato soup
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    Combine ground beef, rice, onion, salt and pepper in bowl; mix well.
    Shape into 12 balls.
    Brown in shortening in heavy skillet; drain.
    Add soup and hot water.
    Simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours or until rice is tender.
    Yield: 6 servings.
