Cabbage Souffle Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage, coarsely chopped
    3 slices white bread
    margarine
    4 eggs, beaten
    2 c. milk
    2 1/2 c. shredded sharp cheese (Cheddar), divided
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Cook
    cabbage
    in
    boiling
    salted
    water until tender. Drain and
    set
    aside.
    Spread
    bread with margarine; place in large mixing
    bowl.
    Combine
    eggs
    and milk.
    Pour over bread and allow to stand 5 minutes.
    Add cabbage, 1 1/2 cups cheese, salt and pepper; mix well.
    Spoon into greased 2 quart casserole.
    Bake in 250\u00b0
    oven for 1 1/2 hours.
    Remove from oven, sprinkle with remaining
    1 cup cheese; bake 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
