Egg Custard Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. milk
    6 eggs, slightly beaten
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 unbaked pie shell
Preparation
    Scald the milk.
    Mix together the eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt.
    Stir the milk gradually into the egg mixture.
    Strain into the pie shell.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to 325\u00b0 and bake until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
    Cool.
    Yield:
    1 (9-inch) pie.
