Old-Fashioned Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. sliced fresh peaches
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 stick butter
pastry dough (enough to fit one 9-inch pie pan)
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
Place peaches in a small boiler with enough water to cover. Simmer slowly for 10 minutes.
Add sugar and butter and stir until melted.
Pour peach mixture into a deep baking dish.
Take pastry dough, roll thin and cut into 1-inch strips.
Add strips to the peach mixture, being sure to cover them entirely in the mixture. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Place the leftover pastry strips in crisscross fashion on the top of the dish.
Bake in oven until cobbler bubbles and crust is brown.
Serve hot with whipped cream or ice cream.
    Serves 6.
