Cherry Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    4 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. almond extract
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter.
    Add eggs and mix.
    Add flour; mix well.
    Add almond extract.
    Spread batter, which is very thick, into a jelly roll pan.
    Mark off 24 squares; put about 3 cherries and juice in center of each.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Remove from oven; let sit for 15 minutes.
    Cut into squares; sprinkle with powdered sugar.
