Meringue Pie Shell - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until foamy.
    Add salt and cream of tartar; beat until soft peaks form.
    Add 2 tablespoons of sugar at a time, beating constantly, until stiff peaks form.
    Fold in pecans and vanilla.
    Spoon into lightly greased pie plate, shaping as for a pie shell.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 50 minutes or until light brown and firm.
    Cool.
