Stuffed Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 large cabbage leaves
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. cooked rice
    2 Tbsp. chopped onions
    1 tsp. caraway seed
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 egg
    3 Tbsp. oil
    3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Blanch leaves in boiling salted water about 2 minutes; remove and drain.
    Combine next 7 ingredients.
    Divide mixture into 12 portions.
    Wrap each portion in a cabbage leaf and tie with string.
    In a large skillet or fryer, brown cabbage lightly in oil, adding more oil if needed.
    Reduce heat; add tomato sauce and water.
    Cover and cook for 45 minutes.
    Makes 6 servings.
