Fruit Cake(England) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    1/2 lb. lard
    2 lb. granulated sugar
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 c. molasses
    4 eggs
    1 box currants
    1 box seedless raisins
    1 pkg. candied citron
    1 pkg. candied pineapple
    2 pkg. candied lemon peel
    2 pkg. candied orange peel
    2 pkg. candied cherries
    1 lb. walnuts
    6 c. coffee
    14 c. flour plus 2 Tbsp.
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Line 8 bread pans with wax paper.
    Cream shortening and sugar. Add spices, molasses and beaten eggs.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Add currants and raisins.
    Cut up candied fruit and add; chop walnuts and add.
    Add salt and baking soda.
    Alternately add coffee and flour, using only enough coffee to make mixture moist.
    Bake in a 250\u00b0 oven for 2 hours or until toothpick comes out dry.
    Yields 8 loaves.
