Sweet Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. lard (crisco)
    shy cup buttermilk
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2-3 c. self-rising flour
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients with flour, knead well.
    Roll out dough, cut into shapes.
    Bake at 450 degrees on greased pan until edges start to turn brown.
    Do not over bake.
