Pecan Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light Karo syrup
    1-inch sq. paraffin wax
    2 c. pecan pieces
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Place sugar, syrup and wax in boiler.
    Stir until sugar dissolves.
    Add nuts and cook to hard crack stage on candy thermometer.
    Remove from heat.
    Add soda and stir well.
    Pour onto cookie sheet.
    When cool, break into pieces.
