Southern-Fried Chicken With Cream Gravy - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 frying chicken (about 3 1/2 lb.), cut up
1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. butter or margarine
2 c. milk
Preparation

Wash and dry chicken.
Roll in 1/2 cup flour seasoned with salt and pepper.
Melt butter and shortening in skillet.
Add chicken and brown quickly on all sides.
Reduce heat, cover and continue cooking for 25 minutes or until tender, turning occasionally.
Remove cover during last 10 minutes of cooking. Drain on absorbent paper and arrange on platter.
