Oatmeal Tube Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. boiling water
1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. chopped nuts
3/4 c. quick oats
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. flaked coconut

Preparation

Pour boiling water over oats.
Cover and let stand 20 minutes. Cream butter and sugar; beat in vanilla and eggs.
Add oat mixture; mix well.
Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg; add to butter mixture, mixing well.
Stir in nuts and coconut.
Turn into a greased and floured 6 cup tube pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 50 minutes.
