Apricot Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. oleo
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. coconut
    1 c. nuts (walnuts or pecans)
    1 (10 oz.) jar apricot preserves
Preparation
    You
    may
    cream butter, sugar, egg; add dry ingredients in usual
    manner
    or
    mix
    with
    pastry blender as you do pie crust. (I\tcut the sugar into the oleo with a fork and knife, then add the other ingredients, except preserves; it's best if you
    don't get the mixture creamy, just crumbly.) Reserve 3/4 cup
    mix
    for topping.
    Grease
    and
    flour
    9
    x 13-inch pan. Spread
    or\tpat mix into pan.
    Spread with apricot preserves. Crumble
    or
    spread 3/4 cup reserved mix on top.
    Bake for 30 minutes at 350\u00b0 (do not overbake).
