Date Nut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    11 oz. finely cut dates
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Sift
    together\tflour,\tbaking\tpowder and salt.
    Cream butter and
    sugar; add eggs one at a time and beat until light and fluffy.
    Add vanilla.
    Gradually blend in dry ingredients, beating well
    after
    each\taddition.
    Fold in dates and nuts. Spread evenly
    in a greased pan (7 x 11 x 1 1/2-inches).
    Bake in\ta moderate

    minutes.\tWhen cool, cut into squares. (Can sprinkle top with 10x sugar.)
