Maraschino Cherry Cake - cooking recipe

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. cake flour
1/2 c. chopped nuts
16 maraschino cherries, cut in quarters
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. cherry juice
3/4 c. milk
4 egg whites, beaten stiff
Preparation

Mix nuts and cherries with 2 tablespoons flour.
Combine cake flour, baking powder, salt, cherry juice and milk (which has been mixed together) and fold in the egg whites.
Bake 35 minutes in 375\u00b0 oven.
