Caramel Layer Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    14 oz. pkg. (about 50) light caramels
    1/3 c. evaporated milk
    1 pkg. Pillsbury German chocolate cake mix
    3/4 c. butter or oleo, melted
    1/3 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. chopped nuts
    6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan. Combine in heavy saucepan the first 2 ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until caramels are melted.
    Keep warm. Combine in a large bowl the remaining ingredients except chocolate pieces. By hand, stir until dough holds together. Press half the dough into pan.
    Reserve remaining dough for topping. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate pieces over baked crust. Spread caramel mixture over all.
    Crumble reserved dough over caramel mixture. Bake 15 to 20 minutes. Cool completely.
    Makes about 3 dozen bars.
