Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. flour (cake flour)
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small Angel Flake coconut
    1 c. chopped nuts
    5 stiffly beaten egg whites
Preparation
    Cream butter, shortening and sugar until smooth.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time.
    Add flour, soda and buttermilk alternately. Add vanilla, coconut and nuts.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Bake in three 8-inch greased and floured pans at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Then cool and frost.
