Green Tomato Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. corn meal
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. sugar
    4 green tomatoes, cut into 1/2-inch slices
    4 Tbsp. butter or oil (for frying)
Preparation
    Combine cornmeal, salt, pepper and sugar.
    Dip very green firm tomato slices into mixture to coat both sides; fry in hot butter or oil a few at a time until golden brown.
    Add more butter or oil as needed.
    Serves 4.
