Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 slices bread
    3 1/2 c. milk
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    4 eggs, separated
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
    raisins (about a c., more if your family likes them a lot)
    1/2 stick butter or oleo
    8 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Break bread into ovenproof dish that has at least 1 1/2-quart capacity.
    Soften bread with small amount of milk.
    Beat 4 tablespoons of sugar and egg yolks.
    Add remaining milk; stir well.
    Add vanilla and salt.
    Pour milk mixture over bread.
    Fold in raisins.
    Dot with butter.
    Place dish in pan of water.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes, or until silver knife inserted comes out clean.
    Remove from oven.
