Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 head lettuce, shredded
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped green pepper
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 (17 oz.) can English peas, drained
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1 1/2 tsp. sugar
    8 oz. grated cheese
    6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Preparation
    Layer vegetables in the order listed in a 2-quart bowl. Spread mayonnaise over top.
    Sprinkle with remaining ingredients in order listed.
    Cover tightly with Saran Wrap and chill 8 hours.
