Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/8 tsp. alum
    1 clove garlic
    2 heads dill
    1 hot pepper
    cucumbers (small or speared may be used)
    1 c. salt
    3 qt. water
    1 qt. apple cider vinegar
    grape leaves
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers and let stand overnight in cold water.
    Pack in jars.
    Mix salt, water and apple cider vinegar.
    Bring to boil. Pour vinegar in jars.
    Place a grape leaf in the top of each jar. Seal.
