Scalloped Potatoes And Ham - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 medium potatoes, pared and sliced
boiling, salted water
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
3/4 c. soft bread crumbs
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/8 tsp. dried, crushed thyme
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 c. milk or light cream
2 c. cubed fully cooked ham
4 slices American cheese, cut up
Preparation

Cook potatoes in boiling, salted water for 10 to 15 minutes. Drain, reserving 1 cup of cooking liquid.
Place potatoes in 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
Melt butter or margarine.
Remove 1 tablespoon butter; toss with bread crumbs, paprika and thyme and set crumbs aside.
Into remaining butter, blend flour, mustard, salt and pepper.
Add reserved cooking liquid and milk or cream. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
Stir in ham and cheese. Cook until cheese is melted.
Pour sauce over potatoes and sprinkle with crumbs.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
