Pastitsio - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. uncooked elbow macaroni 1 beaten egg
    1/3 c. grated Parmesan
    1/4 c. milk
    1 lb. ground beef or lamb
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 beaten egg
    1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Cook macaroni, drain.
    Combine macaroni, 1 egg, 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese and the 1/4 cup milk.
    Set aside.
    Brown meat and onion in skillet; drain off fat.
    Stir in tomato sauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper; set aside.
    In saucepan, melt butter.
    Stir in flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
    Add the 1 1/2 cups milk all at once.
    Cook and stir until thickened. Remove from heat.
    Stir about half of the hot mixture into beaten egg.
    Return to remaining hot mixture.
    Stir in 1/4 cup cheese. Place half macaroni mixture in an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Spoon the meat mixture on top, add the remaining macaroni mixture. Spread the sauce over all.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes.
