Cheese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shredded carrots
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    2 1/2 c. milk
    2 c. (8 oz.) shredded natural Cheddar cheese
    1/8 tsp. salt
    dash of ground pepper
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. flour
    2/3 c. beer
Preparation
    Cook carrots and onions in butter until tender.
    Add flour and blend in smoothly.
    Stir in milk and beer.
    Cook, stirring over medium heat until liquid comes to boiling and is thickened.
    Add cheese and seasonings, stirring until melted.
    Best if doubled.
