Gramma'S Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 large sweet potatoes
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 stick butter or margarine
    1/4 c. water
    nutmeg
Preparation
    Boil whole sweet potatoes.
    Let cool.
    Peel and cut into quarters.
    Place potatoes in 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Sprinkle on sugar, vanilla and water.
    Dot potatoes and sugar with butter. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 until syrup thickens.
    Serves 8 to 10.
