Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. potatoes
    4 large onions, chopped
    1 gal. mixed vegetables
    2 gal. tomatoes
    10 lb. ground beef
    salt and pepper to taste
    hot sauce (optional)
    cooked rice, spaghetti or macaroni (optional)
    pinch of soda
    pinch of sugar
    other vegetables (if desired)
Preparation
    Peel
    potatoes\tand
    cut into cubes.
    Cook potatoes and onions until potatoes are tender.
    Brown meat and drain, then mix
    with potatoes
    and
    onions.
    Add mixed vegetables, salt, pepper,
    soda and
    sugar\t(to taste).
    Simmer on low heat for approximately 1 hour.
    Yields 2 to 3 gallons.
