Gourmet Acorn Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 acorn squash
    4 strips bacon
    1 c. minced onion
    3 ribs celery, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1/2 c. tomato sauce or ketchup
    salt
    butter
    1/2 c. bread crumbs
Preparation
    Cut squash in halves and remove seeds and membranes.
    Arrange on buttered baking sheet.
    Fry bacon until crisp and drain on paper towels. Crumble and reserve.
    In bacon fat, saute onion, celery and green pepper until tender.
    Stir in tomato sauce. Sprinkle squash halves with salt and dot with butter.
    Put a tablespoon of vegetable mixture in each cavity and sprinkle with bread crumbs.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until tender when pierced with a fork.
    Sprinkle bacon on top before serving.
