Layered Vegetable Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    lettuce, cut bite size, 2-inches deep
    4 to 8 grated carrots
    1 1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
    single layer green onions (suit taste)
    tomatoes, diced (a good inch)
Preparation
    Layer in bowl in order given.
    Cover all this with 2 cups mayonnaise mixed with 1 tablespoon sugar.
    Sprinkle top with Parmesan cheese.
    Cover.
    Set in refrigerator 18 to 24 hours. When ready to serve, top with croutons if desired.
    Do not mix. Use a casserole or baking dish or wide bowl.
