Baked Onion Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large onions
    1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
    3 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
    1 egg (no substitutions)
    1 1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs (1/2 whole wheat preferred)
    1 Tbsp. water
Preparation
    Slice each onion about 1/4-inch thick and separate into rings. Soak in cold, salted water about 30 minutes.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Combine bread crumbs, poultry seasoning and Parmesan cheese.
    In a separate bowl, mix egg and water; beat well.
    Dip onion rings into bread crumb mixture; then into egg mixture and then into crumbs again.
    Salt lightly if desired.
    Arrange rings on a greased jelly roll pan.
    Cover with foil and bake in a hot 400\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes.
    Remove foil and continue baking 20 minutes more or until crispy.
    Serve immediately.
    Makes 8 servings.
