Caramel Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar, divided
    6 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    3 c. milk
Preparation
    In a heavy pan over low heat, cook and stir 3/4 cup sugar until melted and golden.
    Pour into eight 6 ounce custard cups. Let stand 10 minutes.
