Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 lb. hen
    1 c. shortening
    4 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Boil chicken until done.
    Season with poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.
    Let cool, then debone.
    Melt shortening in boiling water.
    Mix flour, salt and baking powder.
    Add water mixture slowly to make soft dough.
    Place, covered, in refrigerator overnight.
    Roll out thin.
    Cut in squares.
    Add to liquid and chicken 1 cup milk and bring to boil.
    Add dumplings.
    Lower heat and simmer, uncovered.
    Stir with knife.
    Simmer 20 minutes. Remove from heat, cover and let stand 10 minutes.
