Orange Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. flour
4 eggs
1 c. pecans
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. grated orange peel
1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, chopped

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs and cream.
Add orange peel.
Sift dry ingredients except soda.
Add soda to buttermilk.
Add milk and most of flour alternately.
Mix remainder of flour with dates and pecans.
Add to batter.
Bake in slow oven at 250\u00b0 for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
