Potato Soup Surprise - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium to large potatoes, peeled and cut up
    2 1/2 cups water
    1 medium yellow onion, peeled and chopped. Saut in oil and drain
    1 pound bratwurst - cooked until done and cut into bite sizes
    1/2 tsp salt or to taste
    Pepper to taste
    4 cups shredded cabbage
    3 cups milk (whole milk) or canned evaporated milk - diluted as directed on can
    2 cups (about 4 ounces) shredded Swiss cheese (or cheese of your choice
Preparation
    Use a heavy kettle, combine the 1st 6 ingredients.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat to simmer and cook 10 to 15 minutes or until cabbage is cooked.
    Serves 6 to 8.
