Shoo-Fly Pie(From 1975 Edition) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/4 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. dark Karo syrup
    1 c. boiling water
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Stir flour and sugar to mix.
    Cut butter into flour and sugar with pastry blender until crumbly.
    Reserve 1 cup for topping. Add Karo to boiling water.
    Stir in baking soda and salt.
    Pour into dry mix and stir until dry ingredients are moist.
    Pour into 9-inch pie shell.
    Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
