Cornstarch Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. and 1/4 c. milk (used separately)
    2/3 c. sugar
    5 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Scald the 1 quart of milk in a double boiler.
    Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt, beaten eggs and 1/4 cup milk.
    Add to the scalded milk and cook.
    Stir until thickened (about 4 minutes). Remove from heat and add vanilla.
    Cool and serve garnished with fruit.
