Custard Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. scalded milk
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
    nutmeg
Preparation
    Combine scalded milk, sugar and salt.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Very gradually add milk mixture to eggs stirring until well blended.
    Add extract.
    Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
    Bake on center shelf of preheated oven at 450\u00b0 for 5 minutes.
    Reduce heat to 425\u00b0 and bake 10 to 20 minutes or until center is firm.
    For a change, coconut may be sprinkled over crust before filling is added.
