Custard Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. flour
    dash of salt
    2 well-beaten eggs
    1/2 c. cream
    1 pt. boiling water
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. butter
Preparation
    Mix sugar, flour and salt well in pan to be used in double boiler.
    Add eggs and cream. Place pan over boiling water and immediately add 1 pint of boiling water slowly to mixture.
    Stir constantly until thickened and smooth.
    Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter.
    Pour sauce over rolls when serving.
