Southern Chess Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 recipe Southern Pastry
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    3 beaten egg yolks
    1 stiffly beaten egg white
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream together the butter and sugar.
    Add egg yolks and egg white; mix well.
    Add the raisins, nuts and vanilla.
    Pour into pastry shell.
    Bake in hot oven (400\u00b0) until filling is set. Reduce temperature to moderate (350\u00b0); bake until browned.
    Serve with whipped cream.
