Apple Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. soda
4 c. tart apples
1 c. nuts
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
Sift dry ingredients.
Add creamed mixture with apples and nuts.
Pour into a 13 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for forty minutes.
Peel and chop apples.
