Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. plain corn meal (preferably stone-ground white)
Preparation
    Mix all together, except drippings.
    Put drippings in pan and heat.
    Add to mixture and bake at 400\u00b0 until done.
    (We triple the recipe in the Tullie kitchen and cook in a 10-inch spider pan.
    Do not triple salt if you use drippings.)
