Basic Cream Filling - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
dash of salt
3 Tbsp. flour (heaping)
1 Tbsp. butter (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. milk
2 eggs, separated (3 eggs for 10 inch pie)
Preparation

Mix sugar, salt and flour together; add enough milk to moisten.
Add egg yolks; mix well.
Add rest of milk and butter. Cook in saucepan over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly to keep from sticking or scorching.
Cool and add vanilla.
Save egg whites for meringue.
