Black-Eyed Pea Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hot sausage
    1 can whole tomatoes
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 tsp. garlic salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 medium diced potato
    2 cans black-eyed peas
    1 qt. water
    1 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 bell pepper, chopped
Preparation
    Fry the sausage in a Dutch oven and drain; add remaining ingredients through the black pepper and then add half of the bell pepper.
    Simmer for 1 hour, then add remaining bell pepper and potato.
    Cook 30 minutes longer.
