Texas Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. yellow plain corn meal
    1 c. flour (plain)
    1 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 Tbsp. imitation bacon bits
    2 eggs, beaten
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients.
    Add egg and mix with enough buttermilk to make soft batter.
    Fold in bacon bits.
    Grease and preheat corn bread skillet.
    Fill pan half full and cook over low heat on top of stove about 8 to 10 minutes or until slightly brown around the edges.
    Turn with spatula and continue cooking until done.
    Turn out on plate to serve.
